Hestia vs Cyberpanel Quick comparison

Hestia is a free and open-source web hosting control panel designed for small businesses and personal websites. It offers a simple and easy-to-use interface for managing various hosting tasks such as creating websites, email accounts, and database management.

On the server side, HestiaCP uses Nginx or/and Apache, while Cyberpanel uses either Openlitespeed or Litespeed enterprise. On Hestia, just stick with LEMP stack because it is more lightweight.

Cyberpanel is another web hosting control panel that offers similar features as Hestia, but with a more comprehensive set of tools and features. It also has a user-friendly interface, but it is more geared towards hosting providers and larger businesses.

One key difference between Hestia and Cyberpanel is the cost. Hestia is completely free to use, while Cyberpanel offers a free version but also has paid plans with additional features.

HestiaCP is generally more lightweight and can run on any server, starting from 512 MB RAM. With Nginx only, your Hestia server would host multiple WordPress websites without overutilizing your server resources. Cyberpanel is not as lightweight because it comes with more code (it is written in mostly Python). If your server is small, Hestia is a better choice.

Another difference is the level of customization available. Hestia has a more limited set of options for customization, while Cyberpanel offers a wider range of options for customizing the look and feel of the control panel.

From personal experience, Hestia is more stable, and you won’t be faced with unexpected server errors. Cyberpanel is a good panel, however sometimes you will come face to face with 5xx server errors. For a complete beginner, stick with HestiaCP. If you can track issues online, then Cyberpanel is ok too.

In terms of security, both Hestia and Cyberpanel offer features such as SSL certificates and two-factor authentication.

Overall, Hestia is a good choice for small businesses and personal websites looking for a simple and easy-to-use control panel. Cyberpanel is a more comprehensive option for hosting providers and larger businesses, but it comes at a cost and may have a steeper learning curve.

Both are great projects, I would use either.
