Working on my sore throat remedy – I reduced it

Working and you start feeling uncomfortable on your throat, sore throat is knocking on your comfortable life. Sore throat is usually the first sign of flu, common cold and other more uncomfortable conditions.

Before you go to your chemist try out the following remedies that have worked for me in the past.

  1. Vinegar

As I write this it happens to be really cold dusty and dry, one of the causes of sore throat. 2 hours ago I had a terrible sore throat, my throat felt really dry and soggy. Pretty uncomfortable started in the morning but it escalated after taking sugary stuff.

I had a spoon of vinegar. It was white vinegar. That was 30 minutes ago. My throat feels better now. By the time I post this I will let you know how long it took Vinegar to clear my throat. Do not take too much of it. If you aren’t used to the taste you will find it hard to swallow. To those who cook or marinate with vinegar the taste is rather friendly.

Take a spoonful of vinegar and watch your sore throat clear away. It worked for me so if it does not work for you try any other sore throat remedy before you head to the chemist.

  1. Ginger

Ginger is bitter when you chew it. I once chewed out a large piece of ginger and I did not like the taste one bit. So when earlier today I had my sore throat, even though I had both vinegar and ginger in my kitchen I chose vinegar.

Anyway cut out a piece of ginger and chew it. Chew it like it is medicine…oh yeah it is medicine!

Ok you think it is too bitter? You can make lemon tea with ginger. Remember to boil the water with ginger while covered. Use a lot of ginger in this case. Serve your tea without sugar or with little sugar or better yet forego sugar and use honey.

My recommendation is to chew that sucker up. Just cut a piece and chew it.

  1. Honey

Well this I had to research since honey is sweet and sugar had earlier escalated my sore throat. However honey works well in healing sore throats a spoon of honey in a cup of warm water is one way to get the remedy to work.

You can also take natural honey just so. Not too much of it . A teaspoon of honey should be enough just so.

You can also mix vinegar and honey to sooth the taste of vinegar.

You can mix honey and lemon. Speak of making lemonades from lemon, then add honey of course.

  1. Salty water

Tried this a while back and found it works too slow for me. Anyway make a solution of salt and warm water. Not too much salt. Gurgle the solution. Do this for about 3 times in a day.

 

Conclusion

The moment you feel yu are coming up with a sore throat start on a remedy. Do not wait till t is too late. As soon as you wake up and you feel you have a sore throat get on a remedy and your sore throat will be alleviated early enough. Whatever you have, use it.

And with vinegar, my throat was better after a while, however for my friend she said the vinegar did not work like the honey and lemon did. I guess it works differently for us all.
